"You think I loved ECW? I loved ECW, but they didn’t love me back. She was like the girl I couldn’t let go of, but the one that makes me sick upon seeing her. She wanted too much blood, too much of my heart, too much of my life, so I left and I found fame and fortune in WWE. Edge and I are prepared to take the beatings of our lives, and I will do that to exorcise the sick, twisted whore that is ECW. I want her out of my life. You’ve seen me thrown off cells, slammed into tacks, put through burning tables. It is nothing compared to the horrors I will unleash on Dreamer and Funk at ECW (One Night Stand). You stepped on my soul. You took everything I worked for and threw it all away. When I walk into the Hammerstein Ballroom as a WWE Legend, you Terry Funk and you Tommy Dreamer will learn about loss…Have a nice day."—Mick Foley on his thoughts on ECW

Match of the Night: Many good ones, but I'll say Cena/RVD.
Interesting Notes:[/u]
--Paul Heyman announced that ECW would be returning two days after this PPV as a separate brand for WWE, and that Velocity was done with.
--RVD told John Cena prior to the PPV that he would be cashing in the Money in the Bank briefcase he won at WrestleMania 22 at this PPV, marking him as the first and only man to declare when and where he'd select his title shot.
--Mick Foley turned heel before the PPV on RAW by attacking Tommy Dreamer with a barbed wire baseball bat and siding with Edge and Lita.
--During the RVD/Cena match, many fans were screaming very insulting chants to John Cena.
--A man in a motorcycle mask speared Cena, he took it off to reveal himself as Edge and the crowd yelled "Thank You Edge!" RVD hit the fivestar for the win and the whole ECW roster poured out to congratulate him. The next night on RAW, McMahon said that even though it was controversial Van Dam was indeed the Champion.
--RVD was also given the ECW Championship on the premier show of ECW making him the only man in history to hold the WWE and ECW Titles simultaneously.
--Eugene came out to cut a promo about his Uncle Eric and then Sandman came out and repeatedly hit him with his singapore cane.
--The six person tag was originally supposed to be a tag match with just the men until Beulah and Lita started fighting and were added to the match, though they didn't partake in much action.
--Terry Funk had to leave the match halfway through due to getting a barbed wire baseball bat to his eye, though he did return.
--Mysterio and Sabu both went through a table, causing the draw.
--JBL cut a promo about how he beat up the Blue Meanie in 2005, and said he was the "King of Hardcore." He then added that he was returning to wrestling as an announcer for SmackDown, surprising many who thought he was done with wrestling.
--Tazz beat Jerry Lawler in just 35 seconds, and then went to the announce table for the rest of the night.
--This was greatly received by most wrestling fans and is one of the best PPVs in many people's eyes.
