Conrad did a good job about making the reader feel connected to even the supporting cast. His characters were well developed and most of all, vivid. I also thought that when Conrad was making characters speak, he made it organized to a point where that was simple to follow. Instead of trying to develop a clever and new way with how to present conversation, he blended it with the text where it reads smoothly. I find that very important when reading because if a novel does not have a good flow, it is tough to actually register what is being said. The themes conveyed in Heart of Darkness were mind provoking and thoughtfully panned out. Out of all the books that were read so far, this one might be my favorite because of the serious nature of the issues.

CHICAGO -- After two duds by the Cubs at Wrigley Field, Manny Ramirez and the Los Angeles Dodgers look ready to run Chicago's championship drought to 100 years.
Ramirez hit a mammoth homer to extend his postseason record, Russell Martin had a three-run double and the Dodgers took advantage of four errors by the clumsy Cubs in a 10-3 victory Thursday night that gave them a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five NL playoff series.
